leftover candy chocolate chip cookie bars

We are swimming in Halloween candy.  So why not add more sugar and turn it into a dessert? 

But first..... y'all separate your kids' candy, right???  You absolutely MUST put the chocolate in it's own bowl or it starts to taste funny.  Trust me on this one!  

But back to the cookie bars....

I roughly followed THIS recipe.  However, I used the cookie recipe on the chocolate chip package and followed the steps to make it into bars.  Then I lathered it with the melted chocolate/peanut butter mixture and topped with chopped candy.  It was a HUGE hit!  I will say this is very sweet and rich, and a little goes a long way.  But Mmmmmm......
